The two friends graduated from college and went their separate ways. ‘The Sound Of Silence’ is one of my absolute favorites because it’s one whose meaning is ambiguous enough that you can apply the song to anything happening in the world. Paul Simon took six months to write the lyrics, which are about man’s lack of communication with his fellow man. The first recording of the song appears on Simon & Garfunkels 1964 debut album, Wednesday Morning, 3AM. Powerful beyond belief, and lightyears ahead of its time!
